artwalk_pattiDo the upcoming holidays have you stressing out, or are you pumped and ready for them to arrive? Either way, as your Millburn-Short Hills real estate agent, I want to know that local residents and clients of mine are enjoying themselves this time of year. It’s easy to stay cooped up inside under a blanket, but it’s more enjoyable to get out and socialize at local events in the New Jersey community!

Therefore, I’ve put together this list of upcoming events in the Summit, NJ area, starting tonight. Find one that sounds like fun to you and mark it in your calendar! When you’re ready to buy a New Jersey home or sell your New Jersey home, contact me.

Upcoming Events

1.  Had a stressful week? Need a laugh? Head to the Comedy Cove at Scotty’s Steak House in Springfield, NJ tonight for “The It Girls Comedy Tour!” The show is making its debut here and is perfect for a girl’s night out, a date night or for anyone wanting to get out of the house. Doors open at 7 p.m., with tickets costing $15 with reservations or $20 at the door, and the show begins at 8 p.m.

2.  Ready to get a head start on your holiday shopping? Head to the Oak Knoll Boutique in Summit, NJ this weekend, starting tonight! This holiday market will feature over 50 vendors for you to browse through for unique, original holiday gifts for family, friends or yourself. Admission is free, so you might as well check it out. The market will take place at Tisdall Hall, with varying times each day.

3.  In the mood for some good theater production? Pebble Players presents a Tony award-winning musical showcasing North Jersey’s top youth talent! The Drowsy Chaperone will be performed at The Oakes Center in Summit, NJ this weekend, Friday through Sunday. It plays tribute to the jazz shows of the 20’s. A Broadway starlet must choose between love and fame, with plenty of dancing, scheming, mayhem and more involved.

4.  On Saturday, head to the Home Depot in Vauxhall, NJ for a Holiday Decorating Workshop by Martha Stewart! You can learn how to easily and affordably decorate the rooms in your Millburn-Short Hills home for the holidays in your own decorating style. You’ll also get a $5 gift card and a magazine subscription for attending, and you could win a $250 gift card!

5.  A new version of “Frosty the Snowman” is out this year by Grammy award-winning artist Kenny Loggins and award-winning illustrator Wade Zahares. The illustrations are breathtaking, and the book comes with a CD containing winter jingles written in 1950 by Steve Nelson and Jack Rollins and performed by Loggins. On Monday, Nov. 18, head to Words Bookstore in Maplewood, NJ for a book signing and to purchase a copy.
